Stories on set: An unexpected insight into classic tales.

She sat down, a little tentatively at first then winced. It was too soon, she knew it was too soon but it was difficult to say no. Always was with parts like this, easy work, ultimately kids stuff, the advantage of a baby face. 

Two hours is all that she needed to get through and she needed the cash. 

You’d think it would be softer, the word tuffet sounds soft. What even is a tuffet? 

No one was looking, she had time, she Googled it.

A tuffet, pouffe or hassock is a piece of furniture used as a footstool or low seat. It is distinguished from a stool in that it is completely covered in cloth so that no legs are visible, and is essentially a large hard cushion that may have an internal wooden frame to give it more rigidity.

Surprising, she stifled a giggle, wondering if it would have caught on so well if the story was that she’d sat on a pouffe. Not a lot rhymes with pouffe either, the name may have been a problem. This was an outdoors scene, why not sit on a log? Or a tree stump? Why bring a footstool outside? It was all just wierd. She didn’t even let herself consider what was actually in the bowl on her lap. Little Miss Frump sat on a stump, could work?? The clothes definitely said frump.  

She looked around and their eyes met again! This was getting embarrassing. He was creepy and the hair didn’t help. Fair enough he had to sit down beside her, but surely he didn’t need to be quite so close.

She shifted and rocked from bum cheek to bum cheek. I hope they hurried up she thought, the babysitter was only available till 4pm.
